  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss the blackberries with 1/2 cup of sugar and set aside.
  3. Mix together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  6. Spoon the sweetened blackberries on top of the batter.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
