  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time until well incorporated.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Blend the dry mixture into the creamed butter and sugars.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased cookie sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
