  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Cream together the unsalted butter and granulated sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the all-purpose flour and salt in a separate bowl, then add to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased and floured pan, smoothing the top if necessary.
  6. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes
