A delicious and wholesome alternative to traditional meat burgers, packed with flavor and nutrients, perfect for vegans and vegetarians.

Ingredients

  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onion
  • 1/4 cup corn
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
  • Burger buns
  • Toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Mash the black beans in a bowl with a fork until mostly smooth.
  2. Stir in breadcrumbs, onion, corn, garlic, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Form the mixture into patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  5. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until crispy.
  6. Serve on burger buns with your choice of toppings.

Notes

If the mixture is too wet, add more breadcrumbs to hold it together. For a spicier kick, include diced jalapeños or hot sauce. Smoked paprika adds a nice flavor too.
