  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix together paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry and rub the spice mixture evenly on both sides.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the salmon fillets, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Flip the fillets and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through and blackened.
  6. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

For best results, use a cast-iron skillet to retain heat well and achieve a better sear. Adjust cayenne pepper for desired spice level.
